Ethics Training Updated – Now Required for School Officials
In September 2022, Governor Newsom signed Assembly Bill 2158, which now requires a member of the governing board of a school district, a county board of education, or the governing body of a charter school to complete ethics training every two years during their term of service. The law applies to all members serving as of January 1, 2025, except those whose term ends before January 1, 2026.
To assist districts in meeting this requirement, Vector Solutions has updated its CA Local Agency Ethics (AB1234) course. The course satisfies the requirements of California Government Code 53234 and provides an overview of key ethics laws, including conflict of interest, financial disclosures, government transparency, and fair process.

New Course – Human Trafficking
Human trafficking is a serious problem in the United States, and some students may be affected while still attending school. A new course, Human Trafficking (EDU), is now available on the Vector Solutions platform.
This course helps school staff learn what human trafficking is, how to spot signs that a student might be in danger, and what to do if they’re worried about a student’s safety. The goal is to help protect students and make schools a safer place for everyone.
