New COVID-19 California Department of Public Health Guidance for K-12 Schools
On June 30, 2022, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) published COVID-19 Public Health Guidance for K-12 Schools to Support Safe In-Person Learning, 2022-2023 School Year. The guidance discusses mitigation strategies against COIVD-19, including managing exposed students and staff, COVID-19 testing, vaccinations, and optimizing indoor air quality, and is meant to support safe in person learning for the 2022-2023 school year. In addition, CDPH also published the Preliminary Testing Framework for K-12 Schools for the 2022-2023 School Year, along with  FAQs that include information on COVID-19 testing operations for K-12 schools and how they can refine their testing programs for the 2022-2023 school year. Workplace Violence Prevention
PRISM Risk Control is pleased to announce a new resource for the Risk Control Toolbox, the Workplace Violence Prevention: Best Practices for Public Agencies guide. While the risk is real, there are methods public agency employers can adopt to both prevent and protect employees from workplace violence. The guide reviews these methods, including establishing leadership commitment, how to perform an assessment of a current violence prevention program, ways to strengthen program elements, communicating the program to all affected employees, and continuous improvement of the program to help ensure worker protection. New Vector Solutions Course! Voluntary Respirator Use Training
Vector Solutions has a new course: PRISM: Voluntary Respirator Use Training: Filtering Face Piece Respirators (a.k.a. N95). This interactive course developed by PRISM staff will teach employees how to recognize the appropriate use and limitations of filtering facepiece (N95) respirators, how to don and doff a respirator and identify what is considered proper storage and maintenance of filtering facepiece respirators.
