June is National Safety Month
June is National Safety Month, and while most school districts recognize that safety should be practiced year-round, it never hurts to have a reminder to periodically review and update district health and safety programs. Health and Safety programs like the Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) are often the backbone of health and safety for a school district. The IIPP is also frequently among the top 10 health and safety programs that Cal/OSHA cites for non-compliance. To get you started focusing on health and safety, PRISM Risk Control has curated the following resources:
  • Safety Management Certification – Instructor led, web-based certification course consisting of five classes which provide an in depth look at safety management.
  • PRISMtv – On-demand portal for informational webcasts
    • Risk Control Channel – Topics include regulatory guidance, best practices, news, tools, and other information involving workplace health, safety, and illness prevention
    • Risk Management Channel – Topics include best practices for managing risk

Results are used to determine if an applicant can meet the physical demands required for the essential functions of their prospective job. Contact Risk Control for more information.
