New Naloxone Resources

PRISM members have asked, and Risk Control answered by developing a new training on the Vector Solutions platform, Administering Naloxone. This 15-minute micro-training will provide viewers with the knowledge and skills needed to prevent opioid-related deaths by using naloxone, a drug that can reverse an overdose. This training also incorporates the very informative Administering Naloxone video produced by the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Safe and Active Communities Branch. In addition to the training video, there is a 5-question quiz to measure learner comprehension.

This training can be assigned by administrators, and training completions can be tracked on the Vector Solutions platform to satisfy part of the training requirement in a school district's Naloxone Program. If your district has not yet created a program and would like program guidance, our new risk simplified on Naloxone Program Administration for School Districts is the perfect place to start.

For more information about this training, getting set up with Vector Solutions, or the new risk simplified, please contact Risk Control.

Property Program Deductibles
The PRISM Property Committee took action to increase the minimum All Risk and Auto Physical Damage deductibles within the Property Program. Deductibles available in the PRISM program have historically been well below deductibles available in the commercial marketplace. Although the new minimum deductibles are still very competitive, the Property Committee determined that it is appropriate to increase the minimums due to inflation and increasing attritional losses. PRISM’s Version 1 Property Estimates accounted for minimum deductible changes as outlined below. Deductible changes for the 3/31/2023 renewal are as follows:

1. $25,000 minimum All Risk deductible applies to members with Total Insured Values < $1,000,000,000;
2. $50,000 minimum All Risk deductible applies to members with Total Insured Values > $1,000,000,000; except $100,000 for County of Fresno and County of San Bernardino;
3. $15,000 per occurrence for Automobile Physical Damage (APD) applies to vehicles with replacement cost values less than $250,000. Note: The APD deductible remains $100,000 for all buses and vehicles > $250,000 in value.

Members have the option of further increasing their All Risk and/or APD deductible for a premium credit at the renewal. Requests for deductible options should be made by 1/15/23 with final decisions on renewal deductibles made by 1/31/23. Please contact Sara Carlisle to request any deductible options.
