Recruiting and Onboarding Resources
Many public agencies are dealing with a qualified applicant shortage. To deal with this issue, some are forgoing essential applicant screening steps to bring candidates onboard faster. But skipping any step in the applicant screening and hiring process could potentially expose public agencies to risk.

Before an applicant moves from candidate to employee, ensure they meet the requirements outlined in the conditional job offer. Examples are drug screenings, background checks, or medical evaluations. Make sure to communicate the screening requirement(s) to the candidate, and also confirm that the results of the screens are satisfactory to the agency before the candidate advances to employee.

Protect your agency from liability concerns by ensuring all steps in the hiring process are completed. For more information on Recruiting and Onboarding, check out PRISM’s blog.
