Recap of all the new bills passed that affect public sector in employment, education, public safety, etc.

There are already several dozen bills making their way through the Assembly and Senate Committees. As usual, they run the gamut from more job protected leaves, new FEHA amendments and a range of other labor, employment and education mandates. Leaves of absence and expansion of reasonable accommodation based on family care responsibilities are likely to pass. The deadline for the Governor to sign or veto bills is October 10th.  What will the Governor sign and will he veto the most challenging bills for employers? This webcast will provide a complete up-to-the-minute review and analysis of all the new statutory amendments and anticipated impact on public sector workforces. This webinar will alert you to the newest statutory standards that will affect public employees and their employers.

Topics include:

  1. New job and benefit protected leaves
  2. Amendments to the California FEHA
  3. New provisions to the Labor Code affecting public entities
  4. Bills affecting workers’ compensation claims
  5. Updates that will enhance whistleblower and retaliation claims
