Risk Control Open Forum
Overview
Tabletop exercises are often described as a best practice, yet not all agencies put them into practice. Some run them regularly as part of emergency planning. Others have considered them but aren’t sure where to begin, who to involve, or what they will realistically uncover once everyone is at the table.
Join the Risk Control Open Forum with Scarlett Sadler, PRISM Senior Risk Control Specialist, and special guest Samuel Wallis, Deputy Director of the Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management. We’ll discuss what tabletop exercises are and aren’t, why agencies conduct them, what they tend to reveal about decision-making and coordination, and practical considerations for designing exercises that are truly worth the time.
We invite all members to attend and participate in the discussion. Whether you’ve run a tabletop before or are still deciding if it makes sense for your agency, we look forward to hearing what has worked for you and what questions you may have.
Once you have registered for the forum, you should receive a confirmation email with the meeting link. If you do not receive this email, please contact Doug McGill.
