Safety Management Certification: Accident Investigation for Supervisors - Part 1 of 2

Overview

Join Juan Cajandig, PRISM Senior Risk Control Specialist, CSP, CFPS, MAS, ARM for this first of a two-part webcast on Accident Investigation for Supervisors.

The second session will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022 from 9:00am - 10:30 am. Please register for both events. If you can not attend one of the sessions, they will repeat, and can be taken in any order.

Zoom sign on Credentials will be sent one week prior to each event.

Course description:

Accident Investigation teaches the student the knowledge, skills, and disciplines required to be a competent accident investigator. The curriculum includes “Reporting Cal/OSHA Serious Injuries”, how to put an accident investigation kit together, accident scene security procedures, preserving and collecting evidence, use of sketches and diagrams, accident scene photography, human factors analysis, and more. There are practical exercises that provide students practice in conducting witness interviews and writing an accident investigation report.

The course consists of:

  • 2 Zoom guided discussions -- 1 hour 30 minutes each
  • Homework assignment
  • End-of-course exam

Certification requirements:

  • The homework assignment must be completed and turned in to the instructor.
  • Students must pass the end-of-course exam.
  • Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate of completion.
  • Students who successfully complete all 5 SMCT courses are eligible to take the final Certification Exam. The Certification Exam is a comprehensive exam that measures the students’ knowledge of the learning objectives from all five courses.
