Frequently Asked Questions:

How are individuals appointed to the Board of Directors?

Submissions will be accepted until July 25th. The election will begin on August 4th, with a list of nominees being distributed by e-mail. The election will conclude on August 25th. Results of the election will be determined based on the number of votes received for each candidate. The candidates with the highest number of votes will fill the voting positions, and candidates with the lowest number of votes will fill the alternate positions.

Who at my entity can be appointed to the Board of Directors?

In most cases, there are no restrictions as to who can serve from the PRISM's public entity membership. However, pursuant to our Bylaws, 1 of the voting positions must be filled by a School. The 2 other designated positions do not expire this year (City & Special District).

For JPA members, can someone from the JPA’s membership serve on the Board of Directors?

Absolutely. Participation is not limited to a single individual representing the pool. PRISM encourages the JPAs to solicit interest from amongst their membership.

What are the lengths of the Board of Directors terms?

The public entity board members serve 2-year terms, and the Alternates serve 1-year terms.

Can an individual serve for more than one term?

Yes.

When does the Board meet?

The Board meets the first Friday of March, June, and October. The next Board meeting will be on Friday, October 3, 2025, to be held in San Diego in conjunction with PRISM's Inaugural Annual Conference. During the October meeting, the Board will elect the President, Vice President and others (including one public entity representative) to the Executive Committee.
