This one-hour program will focus on the two recently published Final Rules updating confidentiality regulations in 42 CFR Part 2 and in HIPAA.  The new Part 2 regulations, effective April 16, 2024, change protections for substance use disorder program records once they are released to other covered entities and business associates for treatment, payment or healthcare operations.  We will review these and other changes that will require providers to update their policies, procedures, and their Notice of Privacy Practices no later than February 16, 2026.  The new HIPAA regulations, effective June 25, 2024, will strengthen privacy protections for reproductive healthcare records and will require compliance no later than December 23, 2024.  Separately, the regulatory changes to the HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices enjoy the same extended compliance date as the Part 2 Final Rule.  We will highlight the major changes in both of these Final Rules, and will provide suggestions for best practices to come into compliance.  We hope you can join us!
