California Department of Public Health Updates Vaccine Verification for Workers in Schools

On September 13, 2022, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) updated its Vaccine Verification for Workers in Schools to address the most recent data and science for mandated testing. This updated order rescinds the August 11, 2021, State Public Health Officer Order requiring school districts to verify the vaccine status of all workers. The updated order becomes effective September 17, 2022. While CDPH recognizes that COVID-19 remains with us, the next phase of the CA SMARTER PLAN is mitigation in schools which will focus on long-term prevention and preservation of safe in-person schooling.
