With growing coverage of police interactions all over TV and social media, the usage of body-worn cameras by local and tribal law enforcement organizations has become somewhat of a hot topic. In response to this, the U.S. Department of Justice announced a $20M Pilot Program in May 2015.

The DOJ is expected to provide 50 awards to law enforcement agencies. Applicants must register with Grants.gov prior to submitting an application. All applications are due to be submitted and in receipt of a successful validation message in Grants.gov by 11:59 p.m. eastern time on June 16, 2015. Interested parties are urged to please submit your application ASAP.

Please feel free to direct questions to the EIA’s Loss Prevention staff. You may also follow the links to the Department of Justice website below for more information.
