Yesterday, on August 1, OSHA officially launched the Injury Tracking Application (ITA) to allow employers to electronically submit their 2016 completed 300A data and comply with the Improve Tracking of Workplace Injuries and Illnesses rule.
Three options are available for data submission; manually enter data into a web form, upload a CSV file to process single or multiple establishments at the same time, or transmit data electronically via an application programming interface (API).
OSHA still plans to delay the initial deadline for electronic submission of this data from July 1, 2017 to December 1, 2017, to provide the new administration an opportunity to review the requirements and “allow affected entities sufficient time to familiarize themselves with the electronic reporting system.”
