Health Services Safety Analyst $6,250 - $7,598/Monthly*

The County of Sonoma's Department of Health Services (DHS) is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Safety Analyst!

Starting salary up to $43.69/hour ($91,186/year), a cash allowance of $600/month, and a competitive total compensation package!*

The Health Services Safety Analyst position provides technical support, consultation, and investigative services and training on DHS Safety programs. Duties of the position include:

  • Assisting with development and implementation of the Safety Program, including all safety plans and the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan (IIPP) for the department
  • Researching information, analyzing findings, providing recommendations, and applying legal statutes, policies, and County practices to case management activities and recommendations
  • Acting in an advisory/liaison role with the County's Disability Management and Safety/Risk Management teams
  • Representing the department on various committees
  • Managing the department respiratory protection program
  • Analyzing, identifying, and tracking corrective actions needed after incident reports and reporting to leadership
  • Auditing, analyzing, and monitoring the medical surveillance program
  • Conducting ergonomic evaluations for department staff
  • Interpreting and applying Cal/OSHA regulations
  • Monitoring and maintaining the DHS Safety email box

Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Any combination of course work and training which would provide an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed. Normally, academic course work in public administration, business administration, management, accounting, political science, economics, statistics, English composition, psychology or closely related courses would provide such an opportunity. Experience: Work experience which would provide an opportunity to acquire the knowledge and abilities listed. Normally, one year of full-time professional level staff experience related to general administration, accounting, budgetary analysis, or human resources work including research, analysis, and preparation of written reports and recommendations would provide such an opportunity. License: Possession of a valid driver's license at the appropriate level including special endorsements, as required by the State of California, may be required depending upon assignment to perform the essential job functions of the position.
